What we do with your details

In short: if you register, you are giving Param Foundation permission to contact you about Bali in Bengaluru and our related work. We keep your details to ourselves, we do not sell them, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.

What we ask for

Only what we need to reach you and to plan sensibly:

  • Your name, so we know who we are writing to.
  • Your email address, and your phone number if you are volunteering, so we can actually reach you.
  • Your answers to the few questions on the form — what you are interested in, how you would like to hear from us, where you would like to help, when you are free.
  • Which link brought you here, if you arrived from a poster, a post or a message. This tells us which of our efforts worked. It says nothing about you personally.

We do not ask for your address, your date of birth, your ID, or anything financial. If a form ever seems to, it is not ours.

Why we hold it, and what you agreed to

When you ticked the consent box, you agreed to Param Foundation contacting you about Bali in Bengaluru and storing your details for that purpose. That is the whole of it. In practice we will write to you about the festival — programme announcements, dates, passes, volunteering — and occasionally about our related cultural work.

We will not use your details for anything you did not agree to, and we will not pass them to anyone else to use for their own purposes.

Where it is kept

In the Foundation's own secure systems, which only our team can open. The services that host them are bound to handle your details for us alone, and may not use them for anything of their own. Nothing personal is published on this website, and nothing personal is kept in the website's public code.

Who else sees it

Nobody outside Param Foundation, except:

  • The trusted providers that host our systems and send our email, who may act only on our instructions.
  • Anyone we are legally required to tell — a court order, for example. This has never happened.

We do not sell your details, and we never will.

Counting visits

Like most websites, this one measures how it is being used — which pages people open, and whether a registration was completed. We use standard analytics and advertising measurement tools to do this. They use cookies and similar technology, and they see your device and your activity on this site.

Your name, email and phone number are never sent to them. The measurement records only that a registration happened, and which link it came from — not who made it.

You can refuse cookies in your browser settings, or use your browser's private mode. The site works perfectly well either way.

How long we keep it

For as long as the festival and our related work make it useful — and if you ask us to delete it, we will, without asking why. If you have not heard from us and we have not heard from you for three years, we will clear your details out ourselves.

What you can ask us to do

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete it entirely;
  • stop contacting you — you can withdraw your consent whenever you like, and it is as easy to withdraw as it was to give.

Just ask, using the details below. We will get back to you, and we will not make it difficult. Every email we send will also carry a way to unsubscribe in one click.

What you enter is yours to give

We keep exactly what you type into the form, and nothing more. We have no way of checking whose details they are — whether an email belongs to the person sending it, or to a child, or to someone who has not been asked. No website can. So we rely on you.

By registering, you are confirming that the details are your own, or that you have the person's permission to share them. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the person submitting details is responsible for them being accurate and for not passing off anyone else's as their own. If details reach us that should not have, that is on the person who entered them, not on us.

Please do not register anyone under 18. If a school, parent or guardian is signing up on behalf of students, use the adult's details — they are the person we will contact.

If something has been entered that should not have been — a child's details, or someone else's — tell us and we will delete it straight away, no questions asked. We cannot spot it ourselves, but we will always act the moment we are told.

If something changes

If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell the people we hold details for.
